GAMING GUIDE
Buying a
Gaming Console?
Choosing the right gaming console starts with the games they want to play and who they want to play them with. From there, consider how they’ll use it, the features that matter most, and what they’ll need to get the most out of their setup.
Choose The Experience First
If you’re thinking about getting a gaming system for the holidays, consider what might make or break the experience for them.
Games and Friends
Check where their favorite games are available and where their friends play. Cross-play varies by game, so do not assume every title connects players across every platform.
Performance that Fits
Higher frame rates and sharper resolution depend on the console, game, display, and selected mode. A compatible screen matters if you want to use features such as 120Hz or variable refresh rate.
Living Room or Portable?
A TV-focused system and a handheld system solve different needs. Think about shared family play, travel, and whether the console will move between rooms.
What Should You Look For?
Keep these key features in mind to find the right TV for your space and how much you watch.
Game Library
Start with their must-play games and existing purchases.
Disc Or Digital
Check the exact model and whether a disc drive is included.
Storage
Allow room for downloads, updates, and supported expansion.
Audio Output
Check the TV or monitor outputs before buying a sound system.
