Simplified Setup: Audioengine A1MR Studio Monitors
The Audioengine A1MR Studio Monitors offer two setup options depending on your needs:
- Wired Setup (2 minutes): For immediate use without streaming features, simply connect via the AUX/3.5mm jack and start podcasting, listening, or mixing audio right away—no app required. Important Note: When turning on the speaker, you'll hear one voice prompt; this will only happen once and won’t repeat until the speaker is turned off and back on.
OR
- Wifi Setup (8-15 minutes): To access multiroom and streaming features, download and follow the steps in the Audioengine app.
The Control App - Watch the videos below to see options you will get based on your type of smartphone. The Control app is used to connect the A1MR speakers to your home network. Plug in and turn on your speakers and follow the instructions below.
|
|
Step 1: Turn on power via the rear panel volume/power knob and set the volume to around 50% so you can hear the audio prompts during setup.
Step 2: The A1MR Status button will blink rapidly for 15 seconds, then a piano tone will play.
Step 3: The A1MR Status button will now blink more slowly and a voice will say: "Entering setup mode. Follow the instructions in the app to finish the setup." If no piano tone or voice is heard after 15 seconds, increase the A1MR volume level.
The A1MR will stay in setup mode (indicated by the slow-blinking Status button) for 5 minutes before timing out. To re-enter setup mode, press and hold the A1MR Status button for about 5 seconds until you hear the voice prompt again.
To go back into setup mode, press and hold the A1-MR Status button for about 5 seconds until you hear the voice prompt again.
Connecting A1-MR wirelessly to your internet router.
As device screens seem to constantly change with updates and not all Android menus are identical, the easiest way to get through this setup is to follow the instructions directly in the app and listen to the voice prompts.
During setup we recommend that your phone, A1-MR, and wireless internet router are within 15 feet of each other. You may need your wifi password if it’s not already saved on your device.
Step 4: Open the previously downloaded Audioengine app onto your iOS or Android device and select "OK" if you want the app to access your music library on your device.
Step 5: The app will say "Searching for Audioengine Wireless Hi-Fi System." Select "Add Device".
Step 6: Following the app instructions, select "Settings" to leave the app and go into your device’s wifi settings.
Step 7: Turn on your device’s wifi and select "Audioengine A1-MW" from your wifi list.
Step 8: The audio voice will respond "You are now connected to your speaker. Follow the instructions in the app to finish the setup."
Step 9: Go back into the Audioengine app.
Step 10: A1-MR works on 2.4G, so select 2.4G network from your wifi list and enter your internet router password if prompted to do so.
Step 11: The voice will then say "Connected to your wifi network." Select "Next".
Step 12: Rename A1-MR if you wish, then select the right arrow at the top of the screen.
Step 13: Swipe left 2 times to get to your music or exit the app and go to another player.
Having trouble? Try moving A1-MR and your device closer to your router. Restart your router, device, and A1-MR.
The following troubleshooting tips can help diagnose and correct most concerns with the B-Fi. We have attempted to make this list as comprehensive as possible, so some of these may not apply to your issue, but please go through each tip. If the problem persists and your B-Fi is located within the US, please provide us with the following information: serial number, purchase information (when and where), your current shipping address, and the results of each step.
If your B-Fi is outside of the US, we are unable to offer product services, but please use the below link to contact the distributor in the country where the B-Fi is located. Since the distributor is who will be assisting you from this point on, they will be able to let you know what options you may have. Be sure to still include your full name, where and when your B-Fi was purchased, the serial number, and your current shipping address when contacting any distributor:

If you haven’t already, power cycle your B-Fi by unplugging the power connection, and reconnecting it.
1) Please make sure all of your connections are complete and all of your connector cables are in working order (you will want to swap out some interconnects to test for this).
2) Try playing audio from more than one application on the source device you typically use to connect to your B-Fi (phone, tablet, computer, etc)
3) Check to make sure your source device is running the most up to date version of software available. If an update is available, make sure you restart your device after the update is installed. For Mac users, be sure to check the App store to see if there's a newer version of Mac OS you could be running.
4)Â Try resetting your B-Fi. Press and hold the status button on the front panel until you hear the voice prompt.
5) Try using a different source device with your B-Fi to see if the issue follows. Try using the analog as well as the digital optical output, to see if you have this issue with both connections.
The following troubleshooting tips can help diagnose and correct most concerns with the W3. We have attempted to make this list as comprehensive as possible, so some of these may not apply to your issue, but please go through each tip.
- Check to make sure that the W3 Receiver’s power supply is properly connected to AC power.
- If using the W3 to get music from your computer DO NOT connect the included mini-jack cable from the W3 Sender to your computer's headphone jack. Instead use USB audio from your computer as the W3 was designed. Check the W3 setup guide to see how this is done.
- Verify that your audio source is playing music and that all of your connections are inserted correctly. If one of the cables is not plugged in all the way, you may only hear audio through one channel so unplug the cables in your setup and reconnect to verify.
- Repeat the Sender/Receiver pairing process within 5 feet of each other.
- Unplug the W3 from your computer and restart. Â Test the W3 with your system again.
- Check to make sure your device (computer, phone, or tablet) is running the most up-to-date version of software available.
- Try your W3 in a different location to see if something is causing an issue in the current setup. Â Something as simple as a wireless internet router, cordless or mobile phone, or halogen lamp near the speakers may be causing interference in your setup.
- Try these tips if your computer is not recognizing the speaker through the USB input or the sound through USB isn’t functioning correctly:
- If using Windows, uninstall the USB driver from your computer.  Then remove the W3 Sender from your computer and plug it back in to allow the driver to reinstall automatically.  You can find instructions from Microsoft on how to reinstall a plug-and-play device under Windows here.
- If you are using a Mac, try a NVRAM/PRAM reset.  This resets the system configurations for some audio and video related things and can many times help clear up problems related to audio.  See Apple’s support page for information on how to do this.
The W3 is designed to "play nicely" with other wireless products but issues like this do come up from time to time depending on the type of router(s) being used, other wireless systems in the area, your computer, building construction, etc.. If you are experiencing an issue with your wireless network or interference, here are some things that may help:
- Please try changing the channel of your Wi-Fi router to 1 or 11. This can be done with an Apple router using Apples Airport Utility software. Â On most other routers, these settings can be accessed by logging on to the routers IP address through a web browser.
- Please try to keep as much room between the W3s sender and receiver units, and other wireless devices as possible. Â At least 2 or 3 feet is recommended.
- Please try  temporarily moving the powered W3 sender unit as close as possible to your wireless router.  Leave it there for just a few minutes, and then place it back into your setup and retest.  This may allow the W3 to train itself to "steer clear" of the signal.
- We have found that every now and then the placement of the computer's antenna in relation to the USB port can have this effect on the W3. Â One thing you could try is to move the W3 further from the computer by using a USB extension cable. Â - If using a Mac laptop, try the USB port furthest away from the display (the display is where the wifi antenna is located).
- Consider upgrading to a new wireless router if yours is older than 3 or 4 years. Â Newer model routers handle interference much better than older routers.
The following troubleshooting tips can help diagnose and correct most concerns with the B1. We have attempted to make this list as comprehensive as possible. So, even though some of these may not apply to your issue, please still go through each one.
If you haven’t already, power cycle your B1 by unplugging the power connection, and reconnecting it.
1) Please make sure all of your connections are complete; also, check that all of your connector cables are in working order. You will want to swap out some interconnects to test for this.
2) Try playing audio from more than one application on your source device (phone, tablet, computer, etc.)
3) Check to make sure your source device is running the most up to date version of software available. If an update is available, make sure you restart your device after the update is installed.
4) Try disconnecting from, and "forgetting" the B1 through your source's Bluetooth settings. Then, try re-pairing and connecting to the B1. If your B1 is already connected to a device, then the LED will be on and solid. If your B1 has been idle (and not connected to a device) for more than two minutes, the LED will be off. Tap the LED and it will begin blinking to indicate it is ready to pair, then select the B1 in the Bluetooth settings of your source device. If your B1's LED indicator doesn’t light up, try using a different power source, and/or micro USB cable (many Android smartphones use the same connection, so your charger may be a good way to test for this).
5) Try using a different source device with your B1 to see if the issue follows. Try using the analog as well as the digital optical output, to see if you have this issue with both connections.
6) If at all possible, try your B1 in a different location and / or setup to see if something is causing interference in the current location. Something as simple as a router, cordless / mobile phone, halogen lamps, etc. near the speakers may be causing the issue in your setup.
The following troubleshooting tips can help diagnose and correct most concerns with the D2. We have attempted to make this list as comprehensive as possible, so some of these may not apply to your issue, but please go through each tip.
- First, restart your computer and make sure your computer’s OS and all related apps are up-to-date.
- Make sure all of your connections are complete and all cables are in working order by unplugging the cables and then reconnecting. Try using the included USB cable if you are not already.
- Power your D2 sender with and without the external power adapter to see how this affects your issue.
- Remove all other USB devices temporarily to see how this affects the problem. Audio over USB requires a lot of bandwidth. USB ports can share a bus internally and can also share their bus with devices internally as well. Because of this some ports may not perform with full bandwidth, so try to make sure the D2 is on a bus all by itself.
- Try different bit depths and sample rates. On a Mac these settings are under Applications --> Utilities --> Audio MIDI Setup. Try using both 16-bit as well as 24-bit.
- Try using a different media player (iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, etc) and file types (MP3, ALAC, FLAC, etc).
- If you're using the optical input on your D2 be sure your source (computer, TV, CD/DVD player, etc) is set to PCM Stereo output and not Dolby Digital or DTS.
- Try your D2 in a different location to see if something is causing an issue in the current setup. Something as simple as a wireless internet router, cordless or mobile phone, or halogen lamp near the speakers may be causing interference in your setup.
